Guest guest
Mike: I have problematic knees, as well, but I tend to have more of a unilateral problem on my right side. Sometimes some good, old- fashioned ice helps, along with rest. Standing tends to aggravate my knees the most, so try to stay off your legs when you're having a flare. Simply taking a one-gallon ziplock bag, filling it two-thirds with ice, and setting it on your knee for 5 to 15 minutes should give you some relief. Good luck, and I hope you're feeling better soon. Guest guest
chris carlson...i feel like you have described the way i feel dragging my legs around too then heading off to second shift and standing /walking on them for about 10 more hrs. someone on line suggested rolling the soles of my feet on a golf ball.well, i'm using a tennis ball and it feels good. they say nurses walk about 5 mi./shift...throw in bending, lifting and pulling with the occasional adrenalin surges and there are times i don't know how i get through. but i must so i do! i do empathize ...quite the brother-sisterhood are we with insight and humor from gillian to keep us looking forward! ...mo
