Guest guest
Hi, Our newly diagnosed son was screened by the school district last week. They scheduled his evaluation for Oct. 29 & then they have another 30 days after that for the IEP meeting. Our dilemma is that he has been home with me over the summer, but I am having to go back to work. He has been kicked out of 2 private preschools already. So is it possible to circumvent the system a bit by getting him into a regular public preschool class & then when he cannot function appropriately in that class (i.e. hitting, behaviors), that they will have to provide him services immediately to address his needs? (fyi, this particular school also has an ASD program). We cannot keep him home for 2 or 3 more months. My husband & I both have to work. Thanks for anyone who knows how to get my son in school without causing him too much undue suffering.
