It was brought to my attention (at an IEP meeting) that my son recently (days

earlier) was fidgeting with a ink pen. The pen exploded causing ink to get

everywhere. The teacher stressed her concern about the ink on his clothing, that

clothing these days are so expensive. Then she went on to another topic. I

didn't think anything of it until later that day. My son came home upset that

his teacher made him shampoo the carpet around his desk in front of his

classmates. The problem I have is the part that it was there were other

students watching and that she never spoke of having him do this when we were in

our IEP meeting that morning. She had the perfect opportunity to ask my input

on this but didn't. I would have told her under no circumstances would this

happen during class or in front of the other students.

Can the teacher leaglly do this?
