social skills in school

My son currently has on his IEP that he gets counseling in the a group for the purpose of social skills once a week... He has been meeting with the guidance counselor and another child. The guidance counselor suggested adding a second group with two other children.

In advance of our IEP meeting coming up next week, the school requested that my son have a speech evaluation. The speech evaluator is recommending speech therapy 2x a week for pragmatics... Once in a group and once 1:1.

Should I remove the services with the guidance counselor in favor of the

service w/the speech therapist? Keep in mind we were referred for a speech eval on the basis of a CAPD eval that recommended auditory training with a speech therapist. The evaluator did not think he needs auditory training, however.

Thanks for any insight.
