Guest guest
I strugglge with this as well. Luckily my current and last employers are/were both very understanding. I work 8:30-3:30 Mon-Thurs now, home to put him on the bus as well as get him off the bus. If I need to leave, not such a big deal. I work for an insurance agent. However, I do not know what I will do this summer. He's too old (almost 12) to go to daycare, too young to stay at home even with his sister, he's too needy. We live in a remote area, so finding a babysitter is out of the queestion. I may just have to find a daycare though! What this doesn't provide is money to keep my head above water, much less pay the bills or $600 studnet loan payments for my business degree. If you're looking for part time, there's home health care, and some paraprofessionals at school. These are just a couple, I'll think about it more. > > I am stuck. Guest guest
Have you ever checked out the website O-Desk? It's a place where you can find contract work for professionals. A friend of a friend just recommended it for someone that lost his job recently. The person who recommended it has used it before and said it was a great way to pick up jobs you were interested in. Google it (if I add a link here, it won't work.) "Over-optimism is waiting for you ship to come in when you haven't sent one out." Guest guest
Pam: Recently I have been looking at jobs on Career.com and JobFinder.com... Thankfully, I work from home, but recently I wasn't sure how much longer I'd have a job, so I started looking... Anyway, I don't know if there are any schools, universities, or colleges close to where you live, but I have been seeing several postings for " Virtual Instructors. " Many of them are part-time, and you can work remotely, from home. Today I saw one job opening for a part-time instructor. You may want to look into " adjunct " instructors, too. Oh, and it may help to use the keyword " remote " in your search. Hopefully, you'd be able to find something that allows flexible hours so that you can work during school hours. Good luck!
