A great idea. Shall anyone whose interested meet up at, say, the registration desk after the last morning session on Saturday and take it from there? Z naps around that time, but Ben and I can probably meet you while Z's grandma looks after him. , mother of Zach, age 2Begin forwarded message:From: Rick Dill <rdill@...>Date: July 26, 2009 10:58:35 PM PDTdowm syndrome <DOWN-SYN@...>, < >, Teens <DS_Teens_Plus >, leukemia < >Subject: [ ] Sacramento .. DS ConferenceReply- Hi,I know that for most of you, I am just another list member who posts with reasonable regularity and that my daughter Janet is just someone you have heard about through some of my emails as someone with both challenges and triumphs. It does look like we will be able to show up at the NDSC conference in Sacramento next Saturday and maybe we can actually meet face to face. I haven't enough information on the actual convention schedule to know whether we will be able to register and take part, but I see that lunch on Saturday is open. We are at Truckee, east of Sacramento this work working to make repairs on a cabin here this week. The plan would be for us to drive to Sacramento relatively early in the day and then stay until late afternoon, when we will need to head on to the Bay Area and what is now home. I haven't much idea of what the scene will be. We've only been to two conferences in 36 years, the last one being Pittsburgh at least a decade ago. I'm more interested in meeting parents and their children/adults than I am in going to talks. We're both with forging a path for an individual with down syndrome and at this point not looking all that much advice.Any suggestions about where/how to meet and whether an open lunch is an opportunity? Not sure who will be there, but I'd like to meet you and maybe you'd like to meet Jan.Rick ... dad to 36 year old Jan .. who is trying to live as independently as she can
