Hello,

My name is Krista and I have four children. My whole life they have been what

many would consider behavior challenged.

My oldest son being the worse was diagnosed 12 years ago with severe ADHD. I was

told at that time there was no way he could be and Aspie due to his social

nature. He likes people and is generally good natured. But his social queuing is

way off. He never formed any type of relationships with his peers and was

avoidant of strong eye contact.

I accepted this diagnosis because I didn't know better and because it explained

his lack of attention, anger issues, unwillingness to change etc.....

After many years of feeling at a loss because I always felt there was something

more, he was different from other kids with ADHD, we have had him completely

re-evaluated. After 12 hours of testing we have just learned that he definitely

is PDD with touches of both Asperger's and Autism but more Asperger's because of

the lack of social skills and is very intelligent. He also does not have the

language delays verbally but does have a disability in written expression.

I need help, resources, and advice. He (Mike) is 17 years old, I feel we have

missed our chance to get him the help he needed back 12 years ago and I am angry

about this.

We have struggled so hard over the years with him and if I had known this was

the problem I could have, would have, done things differently.

Mike is an awesome child and he has a heart of gold. It pains me to no end, to

see that at this point even though he seems like a normal kid on the outside he

wouldn't even be able to survive on his own with daily life. He lacks in any

organizational skills or living skills.

Please help.

Thank you.

Krista
