Guest guest
My son(just turned four) has been GF/CF for almost a year now. He doesn't have any " true " allergies(IgE) but does have various food sensitivities(IgG)We have done a lot of testing and have seen much improvement from dietary changes. You don't have to have stomach pain to have gut problems. You may not even be aware your child has gut dysbiosis. My son never complained of stomach pain even though he used to be frequently constipated. We learned through testing he had severe yeast overgrowth and bad bacteria in his gut. (He had previously had eczema, and thrush further confirming the yeast overgrowth. We had testing done through a pediatrician. When people try going GF/CF a big problem is that they often try and compensate for what they removed from the diet by giving their child chips, or sugary GF/CF treats, cookies, etc. If you want to clean up the diet you need to remove all junk such as yeast contaning foods, added sugar, dyes, preservatives (things that feed yeast and bad bacteria in the system). My son has overcome many obstacles since we cleaned up his diet and he is very HF. For my son this was not overnight, it has taken time. A close friend of mine tried GF/CF w/ her HF child and her experience was different than mine in that her child responded very quickly to the dietary change and came totally out of his " fog " . I have also learned a lot from this site www.gapsdiet.com Dr. Natasha -Mcbride(MD) has written a great book called Gut and Psychology Syndrome(which address gut health and how it relates to austism, Asperger's , Schizophrenia, etc)very interesting read!
