After my reaction to the sulfasalazine I was afraid of anything else, i.e. methotrexate.....and was going to try the MSM route and primrose oil. My inner self was leary about the MSM because of it being a naturally occuring sulfur in veggies, etc. So, I did a lot of research and asked different pharmacists and no one could give me a direct answer. I tried taking a very low dose (500mg) for one day and felt odd....so I went with my gut feeling and stopped. My new Rheumy said that I should not chance taking MSM because of my sensitivity and anaphalactic shock is very real! He had no problem at all with taking Evening Primrose Oil and actually suggests it to some patients. So, reading your post really gave me a JOLT!
