Guest guest
Random thoughts... I feel for you. Our son is 6.5 with very curly african hair. We've opted to keep it very short so we have to do haircuts every 2-3 weeks. Video used to help but right now it's a fidget or action figure in the hands with the promise of some "treat" afterwards like play time on the Wii. Does she know that if she breathes through her mouth (like blowing mouth bubbles at the pool) that her nose closes and she won't smell things? I FINALLY thought of this as a way to teach our 6.5 year old to put trash in the trash can. You can practice with her at home if she's able to do the mouth bubble thing. I'm very sensitive to smells and that's how I endure lots of smells others don't notice. Is she calmed by weight? How about a weighted neck wrap type thing or a weighted vest? I haven't used these but I'm working on designing something to try with my little guy. I do sell weighted animals/lap blankets that might help (they don't help us personally for that, but each kid is different). You could try just a bag of beans or rice on her lap and see how she responds to the weight. How about a story explaining the process of straightening her hair...would that help? I write a lot of stories to help our little guy navigate life. Let me know if you'd like me to send you an example. Hope it goes well! www.cuddlebugkids.com ____________________________________________________________ Get a life insurance quote online. Click to compare rates and save.
