Guest guest
I did not do the intro diet with my son. If your son doesn't have problems with constipation or diarrhea with his current diet, I think it would be okay to skip it. However, the intro does help cleanse the body of yeast parasites. My other thought is to do a rotation diet. After 8 months on GAPS, my son became sensitive to many of the recommended foods- almond, pecan, even apples. On Aug 3, 2009, at 6:44 PM, Danila7 wrote:Anybody moved through GAPS introduction stage quickly and still successfully? We are about to start GAPS diet as soon as I complete research on how to implement correctly. My 7-year old is on GF diet for 3.5 years, no issue with stool and seems to tolerate all GF foods without issues. There is no consistency with his allergy flare-ups and acne issues, so I cannot tie it to specific food. I just read about introduction diet to GAPS, with 6 steps. Do I have to go slow, or would it be OK to give each stage 1 days and move to main diet in a week? Ben loves fruit, can't imagine holding him on soup and meat for too long. =
Guest guest
Hi- I'm new to the forum My Doc (Dr. Cowan from CA) suggested 2-3 days on each phase for my condition. I think 2-3-4 days on stage one is probably good enough, but I think it's different for each person. I have been on it for four days and have started stage 2 which I will do for 4-5 days but I cheated today with fresh pressed carrot juice- I needed a potassium boost and couldn't eat bananas or oranges yet. Hope this helps.
