Acid reflex pops up at Ground Zero

Five months after the attacks, emergency rescue workers as well as

thousands of people working or living near Ground Zero still suffer from an

assortment of health problems, chiefly respiratory ills. But an unexpected

ailment has also emerged among some: acid reflux disease, a serious

digestive disorder that causes pain and discomfort when harsh acid from the

stomach backs up into the esophagus.
