Guest guest
I do and have worked full time for a little over 7 years BUT only because my husband has stayed home for the most part. He has been a part time "PCA" Personal Care Assistant for another little boy w/autism mostly driving him from one school to another around noon. He was able to do that with our son along. He just now started driving a school bus which has been very challenging so far! Our son is now in first grade so he is able to work more this year. (We are in debt up to our ears). I have to get both kids and myself ready in the morning and see them off on the bus and then zoom off to work (in a business suit). We have our own PCA who is here when they get off the bus until I get home (I think PCA is a Minnesota thing, it has been a life saver). We have one for my daughter with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome but haven't gotten that far in the paperwork for my son with HFA so we just pay out of pocket to the person to watch him simultaneously. At this point I think he is more work than our daughter with his anger, meltdowns, and irrational behavior. His birthday is today, he is seven years old:) We basically turned our lives over to our kids early on and we just do the best we can for our family along the way. We had no idea what we were in for- as my SIL would say, "This was NOT in my brochure!" We try to keep a sense of humor, we get angry, we cry some, and then like all the rest of you, just get up and do it again the next day Patty and I have Sheridon 8 RTS and Blaise 7 Spitfire
