Guest guest
I talked about the challenges of my 15 1/2 year old daughter the first week of school, and then how she actually liked high school. Well, it didn't last. All the agreements we made such as she would take the bus MWF etc. went up and a puff of explosion as of last Wednesday when she stormed off to school without her book bag deliberately, and it just went downhill from there. She spent much of Friday melted down on the floor of guidance counselors office or the principals office.. Sooo, we try some more. I think it was a combination of fatigue, stress, allergic reaction (again) to antibiotics, and the diabetes on top of the AS. When she has meltdowns she won't eat, and the blood sugar gets really low, and the problems get bigger. The school is bringing in a Behavior Analyst to make a plan and we did discuss the special school for behavior problem kids that she will end up in if this happens again. That will be a disaster for her, but may be the only solution. Anyway, my point is, we take our successes when we can, and know it won't be forever. It is a roller coaster all the way through..
