Guest guest
Hi Amy, When my youngest child was 7 months old she got her first ear infection. I spent several days and nights holding her upright in the rocker (to facilitate drainage of the eustachian tubes). I also gave her echinacea tincture - I squirted it in her mouth (she was too young to object). She appeared over it within 2 or 3 days - which is usually how long it takes for an antibiotic to kick in. She was also nursing frequently, which probably helped also. Good luck Peggy

Guest guest
-In a child the eustachian tubes are often horizontal...and in an ear infection they are usually closed tight and not draining...hence the infection. Guest guest
>Any recommendations for ear infections? My boss is thinking of doing >a candle treatment, has anyone done this Haven't formally introduced myself yet but would like to respond to this question. I just finished a professional ear candling course and use candling on my family. When my daughter had an ear infection recently I candled her ears and used an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial essential oil externally around her ear. Much to her relief. Some of the controversy with candling comes from incorrect claims of what it accomplishes. It brings soothing comfort to the ear canal and sinuses in a painless and relaxing way. That in itself is beneficial. it was a journey for me to be comfortable with ear candling - there are bad candles and bad information available. I am anzxious to read more about any connection between ear infections and vaccines as that has been a problem for my daughter and it never occurred to me that there is a connection. ---------------------------------

If you hear from many people on this list who have NOT vaccinated their children you will hear that most do NOT ever have an ear infection. When working in Peds practice I noticed the all followed vaccines but didn't think too much about it back then. Now doctors think it is normal and its not. Vaccines are very disturbing to the immune system and hence illness after - depends on childs weakness where. From a homoepathic perspective (which you'll hear a lot from me), there is a huge disturbance of the vital force and the disturbance has to escape and the vital force uses symptoms (again where you are weak) to get rid of the disturbance. I refer you to an article I wrote http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/homeo.htm I encourage you to find a quality homeopath Again, welcome Sheri And to find a quality classical homeopath near you, here is a list I maintain http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/STEVELIST.htm And here is a list of classical homeopaths from NASH (the certifying body) I'm going to update the list I maintain and add those that aren't already there and there may even be more to add - I'm checking to be sure this list is updated! http://www.homeopathy.org/directory.htm Many people take a few workshops and think they do homeopathy - or read a few books - or study for a year. It take a long indepth study . Here are some questions to help determine quality You ask them: 1. Where did you study homeopathy? (should be a specific program) 2. How long did you study? (should be a number of years) 3. Who did you mentor with? 4. Do you mix homeopathy with herbs, drugs, other things??? Or do you ONLY use homeopathic remedies. (answer should be ONLY homeopathic remedies) 5. Do you use just one remedy at a time (should use 1 remedy and watch and wait - (should wait longer periods for chronic things, shorter periods for acute things) Should not have you taking more than one remedy or taking them on a routine basis (usually) or alternating remedies 6. Have you read the Organon? (the main source to learn homeopathy and KNOW the principles) 7. How often do you read it? (most good homeopaths are reading it constantly or at least yearly) -------------------------------------------------------- Sheri Nakken, R.N., MA Vaccination Information & Choice Network, Nevada City CA & UK $$ Donations to help in the work - accepted by Paypal account vaccineinfo@... My daughter is on a a504 plan and is working great on the most part for elementary. She is starting 7th grade next year. I had a meeting with the 504 team and they want more information then she will be absent quite a bit. Over all does fine in school (academically) she is in the GATE program but is absent on the average once to twice a week. The team asked me for more information and more ideas to put into her plan. I don't know what JR High is like except I will now have six teachers to deal with instead of one. Do you have any thought on what I should tell the team. The only idea I had was the school makes you make up all miss classes before or after school. I told them is very low on energy and she stays home to sleep so making her day longer to make up missed work wasn't an option. They told me to come up with an idea to where she could make up the class that fits into her schedule. I have no clue! Help I am at a lost. I have another appt in February and I am suppose to come with what I want in the plan. They are going to come with what they think should be in the plan and we can then together make it. Spec. Guest guest
a - Macey had repeated ear infections as a toddler and has had them again here lately repeatedly. When she was younger she had a 50-80% hearing loss and had 2 sets of ear tubes and speech therapy. Lately it's been happening again and I hope that the IVIG will help. Guest guest
I know there is a connection, several years ago I went to a natualpathic doc and she told me I had a yeast problem, and in our decussion she told me that my ear problems were probably yeast as well, I also have tmj, but anyway after six months of the diet and all the antifungles my ear problems were gone, that was several years ago, now the yeast has come back, but I am doing the diet and the antifungles again. Tammy ear infections I experienced chronic ear infections due to candida. I have created a website (in the development stages still) that describes my success. If anyone is interested they may go to my site at www.earinfectionsnaturally. com. I am very interested in hearing from anyone that may be wondering if their ear infections are related to candida. I definitely learned that there is a definite connection!
