March 22, 2002

The mold situation at Pahrump Valley High School and complaints from local

veterans about medical care will get a little federal scrutiny Monday, when

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) tours Pahrump.

Reid will begin his day in the valley at 10:30 a.m. with a stop at PVHS and

the neighboring Community College of Southern Nevada's Pahrump Learning

Center. While there he will meet with members of the school board as well as

PVHS Principal Jerry Hill and his faculty.

From 1:30-2:30 p.m., the senator is scheduled to tour the Pahrump Family

Resource Center and Even Start Literacy Center at Road and West

Street, where directors Long and Fitzgibbons will run down the

services offered by both agencies.

Veterans health care figures to be the focus for much of the afternoon. From

3-4 p.m., Reid will meet with administrative and medical staff at the

Department of Veterans Affairs primary care clinic in Pahrump. From

4:15-5:15, he is scheduled to meet with , commander of Veterans

of Foreign Wars Post 10054.

From 5:30-8:30 p.m. the senator will attend a reception of local leaders and

finish his day in Pahrump with an appearance on a local television talk

HArry is a joke!

I have been here in NV and in his district for years.

The publicity seeking senator loves to use people when his staff is UNDER

EQUIPPED to addres issues concerning the environment.

His office has no clue about pesticides in the Fallon cancer cluster.

When he was running I called and told his staff he needs to stop just

talking about the environment he has to do something about it.

His democratic congressional colleague, Berkley listened. She is

a co-sponsor of the Safe Notification Fragrances Act. Fortunately,

is a personal friend and she has seen this first hand with me.

SHe is also on the cpngressional women's caucaus for the environments

effect on womens health. Especially in regards to pesticides and

cancer.

Harry is all talk and no action. He has know about IAQ issues for years

and he only discusses it when he can get his name in the paper. He hasn't

gotten anything done about the mold issues in County where Las Vegas

is located.

Mr. Senator/Environment still has toxic schools and government offices.
