Guest guest
Our DAN doctor is suggesting testing for Lyme from Igenex labs for our high-functioning autistic child (7y). Initial BioSet testing shows high counts for lyme, candida and some viruses. Our Dan has asked me to stop giving him Oil of Oregano before we do the blood test for Lyme. He has also said that it may be possible that the high counts could be from exposure to Lyme, and he may not actually have the disease. had developed a bulls eye red rash when he was 5 (which appeared after a visit to the East Coast)and was treated with two weeks of antibiotics by our PCP. I have heard that there have been several false positives from Igenex. If anyone in this forum tested positive for Lyme and had great results with antibiotics, would really love to hear from you. Thank you. Warmly, Anjana
Guest guest
Anjana, We have used Igenex and my 4 y/o son was positive for lyme diagnosis. We have been seeing a lyme-literate MD and are using antibiotics and herbals with great results. For us, it's been tricky getting off antibiotics as the lyme bugs and co-infections are great at hiding/mutating/cycling. We've been on meds for more than 6 months now. 2wks of abx was probably not sufficient for your child if you ask any lyme-literate doctor. You may want to visit borreliaandmultipleinfectionsandautism group as I'm not sure your inquiries are the target of this group. Keep in mind though that the borrelia group tends to support herbal treatment of lyme and co vs. antibiotics. It's your decision to make, though. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Good luck! ~Anissa > > Our DAN doctor is suggesting testing for Lyme from Igenex labs for our high-functioning autistic child (7y).
