Guest guest
this is a e-mail i sent to 3 television news stattion and 2 local news papers. but as of yet i havent recieved 1 response. just like my aspie daughter doesnt exist. the schools wont protect her and the cops in my town are worse. I am convinced that they should remove the term " to protect and serve " and change it " to cover my butt and not get sued " . heres the letter / e-mail: this is a story that happened to my autistic 8 year old daughter on wednesday. we live in wallingford connecticut. a 16 year old high school girl was on the local grammer school property and started harrassing my wife (this girl is known as a local bully and constantly in trouble). when the teenager started using the f word left and right to my wife due to a saying my wife has on her van .my autistic 8 year old daughter said " you better apologize " (its what she is taught to do if two people are argueing). the high school student then got into my daughters face and screamed at her " you better get the f-ck away from me, you little fat a** ! , then the girl proceeded to scream it again. my daughter went into complete duress. (it is common knowlege my daughter is autistic, so they cant say they dont know) we called the police. they didnt do anything until they can finish a report, but tried to chalk it up to " ongoing problems between our families " . even though the only ongoing problem is their daughter bullying my older daughter since 7th grade and now my younger 3rd grader. but due to a phone message the 16 year olds father left for me on " my work voice mail " , calling my wife cuss words and threatening to take my home from the (quote) " getto neighborhood i live in " , (which is all recorded) the police finally believed us that the character of these people is that of the family. But still to this moment, the town and or schools have done nothing to make sure my 8 year old aspie daughter is safe from this again by banning that girl from being there on the school grounds of a school she " doesnt even attend " . my daughters grammer school wont do anything until they get a police report. (which takes approx 2 weeks) even though they have a history of problems with this girl, and there and have more than enough probable cause to proceed with this further. my daughter is under complete duress. you would think with all the autism stories and the bullying dilemnas someone would have jumped all over this, rather than being so laxidasicle, like this special needs child doesnt count. this was clear cut bullying to a special needs child. my daughter now cries and doesnt want to go to school because shes afraid the big girl is going to beat her up. and she doesnt want to eat becuase she says she doesnt want to be called a " fat A " . and she wont stay and play on the playground after school anymore because the big girl might (and does purposely) come around. this is all from an 8 year old !! and the total look of sadness in her eyes when she looks at us and says " you cant protect me " brings tears to our eyes every time. because shes right !!!! we cant, and nobody else is willing to try. it is easier to just keep ignoring our please and hope it goes away. the town is in complete negligence with this. the girl should be told to stay off of the school property forever. but until we get a police report the school wont do anything ???, if even do anything at all ? this is only a very short abridged version of this story. we want these kids protected, and the wallingford school system refuses ? if you question anyone that is a state licenced advocate for special needs students, they have all told us " wallingford is the worst " , or just roll their eyes. please call me and or my wife for the full story. this was years in the making because wallingford didnt stop this bully when they had a chance. we honestly dont know what to do. the world has turned upside down for this small child. and maybe a little bad press exposure on wallingfords part may get these kids the protection they need, finally. I have yet to get one response. I wish there was a way to get every parent with an autistic child to march on my town to call complete attention to what really needs to be done. but i can only dream. I am at witts end. attorney fees are out of the question, and i am at the mercy of the town hiding their negligence. any advice ?
