Guest guest
Jayne; You were asking what foods I avoid? There are specific foods that my system cannot handle and they are milk, bananas and peanuts. After I stopped drinking milk, I felt better on 3 pain killers than I did on 4. These foods had a delayed reaction on me, therefor I did not suspect they were the culprits. I had a test done to determine this - I feel either a test for food allergies or a process of elimination on your own is a very wise idea for anyone with PA (or any other debilitating disease). Generally speaking, I avoid processed foods, sugary desserts, fried foods, vegetables from the 'nightshade' family (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, tobacco, paprika - when I stopped eating tomatoes specifically, my psoriasis showed great improvement), alcohol, chocolate........ I favor fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, fish, and I find flaxseed oil and lecithin granules help. I tried my best to maintain a diet of pop-tarts, Burger King and ding-dongs but that didn't work out so well. Changing my eating habits were very hard for me (I miss cold pizza and doughnuts for breakfast) but speaking from first hand experience, it's difficult but well worth it. I hope this information is of use to you. Take care, GS
