Son graduated from high school today and has the diploma in hand! He

pulled it off and passed english to be allowed to graduate. So, for

those dealing with kids with Lyme...it IS possible. He was on abx for

over a year several years ago for his LD.

Oh Sally, Congratulations to your son and to you! Was English his

most difficult subject then?

I'm home schooling mine and there are some days when they breeze

through everything with not a single worry. But many days, they get

so frustrated they are literally in tears not being able to remember

simple rules or sequences. I don't know what to do more than I'm

doing... push them as far as they can go and then let them put it away

and work on something they can accomplish that will also make them

feel good about themselves.

Did the year plus abx cure your son of LD or does he still have cycles

with it? Was he born with LD or get it directly from a paracite

bite?

Hi everyone. I have been something of a fly on the wall here for the past few months because my daughter, Liz, was still going through the diagnosis process. Well, it is now official that she has AS. I was not surprised. Reading some of your posts was like reading about my family. Now we will begin the process with the school. She starts 8th grade in about a month.

I will look through the archives here for advice on IEPs, but if anyone has any advice they want to share, feel free! And thank you in advance.

Hi Barbara, how has school been in the past? Wondering if you feel the school

will be helpful or difficult.

My only thought right now is to have in mind what you feel she needs to succeed

in school that you want in her IEP. Since it'll be a new grade/new teachers

this year, they may not be familiar with her. If she had some nice teachers

last year, you might ask them to please jot down a few things that they think

will be helpful for her IEP or just notes in general that they feel will be

helpful to this year's teachers and include those at the IEP meeting.

Good luck and do keep us updated.

> I just wanted to let everyone know that I had my surgery Sept 28/10 7 and 1/2

months ago at a starting weight of 320lbs as of today I am officially in the

100's for the first time in a very long time. I am down 123lbs in 7 1/2

months...Holy crap I never thought this was possible and I feel like I am in my

20's. I have less than 60lbs left to my goal of 140lbs. I went shopping at The

Gap for the first time in my life and bought a pair of skinny pants, what a

feeling. I have gone from a size 30 to 32 to a size 14 in 7 and a half months,

unbeleiveable... I love Dr. A for helping me transform my life into this...Thank

you Thank you....I just got back from Disney World where I went on every

waterslide and climbed the stairs up to each and everyone. I have more energy

than I know what to do with sometimes and can't beleive how fit I have become. I

workout 4 times a week and have bought a bike and trailer to pull my girl around

in this summer and can't wait to go on those long bike rides with her.
