Nova Scotia school to remain closed as officials look for cause of rash

BARRINGTON, N.S. (CP) -- Students at a high school in southwestern Nova

Scotia are getting even more time off this week.

Barrington municipal high school was expected to reopen Tuesday, but the

area school board decided Monday to keep the building closed for at least a

few more days.

A mysterious rash developed among roughly 50 Grade 7 students and health

authorities haven't been able to find the cause.

The board says it's carrying out remediation and maintenance work.

A health specialist was also conducting tests in the building.

Grade 7 and 8 students have been told their classes will not resume until

next Monday.

Senior high school students could return as early as Wednesday.
