My Aspie is Mildly retarded

I don't post too much because I get easily overwhelmed by all the different

postings...I do read them and I have never noticed but is there anyone out there

that has a child with Aspergers that is mildly retarded. My son is 13 and makes

the honor roll...but can't write or tie his shoes because of low muscle tone. I

am a single parent without shared parenting and because of violent behaviors in

the past it became a neccesity to have home health care aids in everyday. His

negative behaviors have all but stopped and he is a sweetheart and I believe him

to have a photogenic memory.. I just don't know what the future holds and I

really don't know what to do or any other services I can get to help him. I

love this kid more than anything in this world but he is not very motivated when

it comes to self care and his fixation is animals.... I wonder if he will ever

be able to take care of himself on his own...or should I change my perspective?

I am so concerned that he will never have a normal life drive a car have

friends...or a girlfriend. Maybe these things are just prayables? Is there

anyone out there that shares this experience?
