Guest guest
Our son is 4. He has only been in daycare from 9 month til 18 months and I have stayed home the rest of the time. He does not like change, and does not like for me to leave him, anywhere. Even things that are normal, routine things that happen weekly, he is very ambivilent and anxious. We have a meeting today to go over the possibility of him joining the PPCD class for this semester. I think it will be good for him to have a routine and for the social experience. I do know that every day it is going to be a fight getting him up, dressed, into the car, and into the doors of the school. Is it worth it? Honest answers please. He does not need to go for academic reasons, but more for social skills and an added bonus is that I won't have to cart him to speech and OT two times a week, he'll get those services during the school day. And honestly, I need a break. He is difficult to deal with during the day, and I find myself not making him do things (like nap) b/c I just don't want to fight with him.
