Guest guest
I just remembered something that MIGHT help anyone who is trying to teach their child ABCS. I made a chart for my son based off of a very old chart from the 1960s'. I saw it when I was interning in ESE. I never could find it again, so I made one on the computer. Anyway, it has the Letter, a song blurb, and then a picture. This worked with both of my boys. Each letter is in a box with a picture, and you sing the sound like Aaaaaaa apple (picture of the apple--but with letter A), bbbbbb ball (pic of ball), ccccccat and ddddddoll. Anyway I just had a brain light go off today--thats probably why Jasper still remembers it. I did it with him when he was 3, when I was teaching younger kids. He knew letters by sights, but this was fun to add the sounds to a song. He probably got it because it had PICTURES to associate with the jingle. Plus he touched each letter and picture as he sang it. So just thought I'd throw it out there, that might help those visual spatial and kinesthetic learners anyone might have. It hits everything in one short song. I think I can find the copy I typed up too if anyone needs it. I'm sure I have it on a drive here somewhere.
