Guest guest
YES!!! I have read soooooooooooo much on this topic and I am sure I still have a lot to learn. My sons medical doctors are amazed at my knowledge and say that I should go to school for this, but I just want to concentrate on my own son since he needs me, hence is why I joined the support group, to help others as well. Here is what I recommend: The Asperger's Syndrome Survival Guide: What you and Your Family Need Know, by Craig KendallAsperger's Syndrome Guide for Teens and Young Adults: Thriving (not Just Surviving), by Craig Kendall (both are Visions Research) The Hidden Curriculum by Myles, L Trautman, Ronda L Schelvan It's So Much Work to Be Your Friend by Lavoie Perfect Targets by Rebekah Heinrichs Also you may want to google Asperger's and meltdowns specifically. I have found that there can be some deceiving websites out there so be careful. If you need any of my help researching, let me know!! Guest guest
the best info have found is the International Immunology Board Guidelines. I am not aware of any books because the research is changing so quickly. If I were making a speech I would go to Modell Foundation or IDF to get my resource info to make sure it is current. I am sorry you are having difficulties getting school support with your daughter. If you want to talk further about it feel free to contact me. We clearly have had years of issues with the schools regarding absences. From: osdbmom@...
