As a grandma, I do not worry that my first granddaughter has had NO vaccines. She had a Vit K shot and was treated for a urinary tract infection (caused by the nurses) right after she was born so I have worried about those injections! I worry more that my daughter and SIL might be coerced into getting shots for belle by going to the Dr for " wellness " visits! I had two daughter's and stopped ALL Dr visits after I found out how detrimental the vaccines are! Yes, that wasn't til my 2nd child had had one set of shots. (the first had had everything! ugh!) I found out about Natural Hygiene and their explanation of how the body works and how to keep it healthy. (hacres.com or do a search for American Natural Hygiene Society) Try to relax and enjoy your baby! The time goes so quickly! If you research the natural course of many of the diseases (homeopathy books are terrific for this!) that are vaccinated for, you will find they are rather benign. A healthy immune system is key. Arming yourself with alternative treatments will also boost your confidence immensely! If after doing your research, you decide thata certain vaccine has benefits for your situation, you can always choose to partially vaccinate as another option. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Just be sure you are making the decision and not a doctor. Cheryl
Guest guest
Sure, it is a natural part because we have been so conditioned that vaccinated children don't get the diseases. I always have Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child by Zand, et al...on hand. I also keep Prescription for Nutritional Healing. How to Raise a Healthy Child In Spite of your Doctor by Dr. Mendolsohn....and I just ordered a new book called Vaccine Free Prevention and Treatment with Homeopathy by Dr. Starre. (I can't wait to see it because it has treatmetns appparantly for evertyhing including typhoid, bubonic plague, etc.) You can order it from him at 330-739-6025...cost about $11.00 w/s & h. These are like my " bibles " . After awhile you get more comfortable with your decision...we are more conscientious about washing hands, no sugar diet, etc for our daughter and if she is not feeling well,...we stay home...or rearrange the playdate. This is a great list and it offers an incredible amount of support and resources. Best wishes and welcome....invest in those books they are a great resource in the middle of the night. Guest guest
Hi , I only get nervous when someone tries to force vaccines on my child. She will be 3 in less than 5 months, she doesn't get sick, however she just got over 3 days of sniffles. If she were the type of child that is always sick (ear infections, throat infections, gastrointestinal problems and fevers), I guess I would be nervous and begin to think that maybe she should be vaccinated. But from what I can see, she's healthier than all the vaccinated children I know because she has never had any of the above...never. I don't want anything to interfere with that and I'm comfortable with my decision. Hi - New Here >From: Cloud Nine Design <cloudninedesign@...> > >Hi everyone I am new to this list. Guest guest
I was so fortunate to have a doctor who shares my beliefs, so I know that when my kids were little and got sick I am sure she did think of those diseases as she diagnosed my children. I would like to point out that my most of my children had very few ear infections, some of them none at all, and two of them had just 2 infections, they have been very very healthy and I feel it is due to the fact that I did not immunize them and they had a healthy diet which didn't include milk. Guest guest
Tasha, It's typical for Lexapro to cause you to be jittery. Give it at least 6 weeks for it's positive effects. When you are ready to go off of it, it has to be done slowly, it's true and under doctor's care cause a sudden stopping of the medication has bad sad effects. >I started Lexapro yesterday and this is my first time on any Psych >medication. Guest guest
Larrissa, ok here goes.. My agaraphobia is fairly bad. I had to cancell a therapy appointment yesterday cause I coudl not leave. Generally I am able to force myself oout of the house after about 2 hours of panic and then I am still shaking like a leaf. I often have panic attacks once I am out which kinda makes me stay in a lot. fear of fear. panic about possible panic ( so mucha circular trap) Are you housebound? I have been on the lex for about 6 months.. and here is where I am a bad example... I am so drug sensitive I am only taking 4 mg. I started on one. I use a liquid form .Because lex can intensify anxiety to start with that is where it is good to have benzos to ward off the anxiety of going on. the SSRI. I was terrified to even take the stuff at all and stared at it for a month or something 1st I would cry if I even saw the box., .. SO because I am not at a therapudic dosage I am a bad example. I still have horrible anxiety. Here is the thing..I still think some days it is better.. then I tend to have a week of being a freak. I am trying hard to up the dosage but I am still scared of the drug ( this is not entirely a rational thing besides that messing with brain chemicals is a serious thign in my book) Well, Larissa I think the lex is worth a try ..it is very low on side effects in comparison to other drugs. I do also recommend therapy. beign agoraphobic is no way to live .. I am sure you would agree. I am here for you whenever you need support. I am home almost all the tiem as my anxiety is such that I cannot work right now. do not let my current situation deter you..cause until I am on at least 10 or 20 mg there is no tellign if the lex is useful for me or not. alison On Thu, 25 Aug 2005 16:22:47 -0400 " soothing " <soothingsolutions@...> writes: > Larissa, > > I do. Guest guest
This is not true, . Not all anti-depressants are for both depression and anxiety. Lexapro, however, is recommended for both. Guest guest
ok I am sure I should stay out of this..and each person should follow their drs advice..but in my case my dr did tell me if I couldn't handle a full dose to cut it down until i could handle it. I am basically in total control of upping the dose or bringing it down according to my comfort level. Further ..it is my body so I feel I should be the one to decide. it doesn;t sound like the original writer has been on it long enough to have withdrawels.. so to lower the doese does not sound so horribly dangerous to me. BUT NO I AM NOT a dr.. I felt the question was just being asked could it be cut.. not what are the dangers .. the answer is yes it can be cut.so that was the answer given. - alison On Thu, 25 Aug 2005 20:28:55 -0700 (PDT) Annie Houlihan <gvhoulihan@...> writes: > Who is the M.D. on this site????? > Taking a chance on giving advice is an absolute mistake. Guest guest
Sorry I have to write this, but......Who ordered your present presciption and dosage? You mentioned you were going to try to cut it in half......If you got the Lexapro for a certain mg, are you just deciding on your own to change the prescription, or have you contacted your M.D.? This is not a drug to fool with. If your M.D. ordered you to cut it in half, OK. However your post makes it sound as though you are doing this without his orders. Why go to a Doc if you aren't going to follow his orders. It's a waste of your time as well as the Doc's! Annie in AZ Eltat2mom@... wrote: In a message dated 8/25/2005 3:56:26 P.M.
