Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have been lurking on this group for a couple of months and I cannot express how much comfort I have gotten from knowing that there are other people who are going through what I am and I am not alone!! A little background - My son is 6 1/2 and has not been diagnosed with AS yet but we have had the testing done and will get the results 8/30 but I have no doubts. He had an awesome first grade teacher last year who realized something was different and he now has an IEP in place that I am pretty happy with. Now for my question - school starts in 2.5 weeks and I am very nervous. My son has always had issues with sleep, hard time falling asleep, hard time staying asleep. And to make matters worse he has not been following his normal sleep schedule this summer. I have always wondered if a weighted blanket would be helpful and now that we are in crunch time to get his sleep schedule more regulated I am wondering if a weighted blanket would help. I know that all children are different and what works for one may not work for others but I am curious if anyone on this list has had success getting their child to sleep better using a weighted blanket? and if so was it an immediate change or did it take time for the child to adjust? Thanks everyone! Tracey
