Guest guest
My son whom is 4 years old was recently diagosed with Aspergers P.D.D., Severe ADHD and Severe O.D.D. (oppositional defiant disorder). Although he has been showing these behaviors and symptoms since he was just 2 years of age, he was just recently diagnosed after many appointments ad many different doctors. So I was suggested by his home based therapist that i apply for Social Security Disability for my son and so i did. Well Monday we had his mental evaluation with the State Dr and to me things didn't go so good. The dr said that from the 25 minutes we were in there he couldn't specify and aspergers traits, but could definately see the severe ADHD and ODD traits that my son displays. So now what should I do?? I think he does have Aspergers because he does often display signs of it along with the ADHD and ODD. His normal doctor is the one who diagnosed his primary diagnosis as Aspergers syndrome with ADHD and ODD, so I believe her when she says it ya know. She knows her stuff. Also now that I have applied for ascial security, what do you think the chances of him getting it are? I mean the dr told me if my son didnt get his medicine stablized right now that he would never make it through Kindergarten and I am worried about him. I am planning on trying to get that taken care of tommorow because his dr had yet to put him on a psycho stimulant for his ADHD. I also do not would not want him to get denied because one dr seen him one time and thinks he does not have aspergers because I truly believe he does and I also think his regular dr would know ya know. So I dont know anymore what to do or what to think! If he gets denied the first time should I re apply again until he gets it or what? Thanks for letting me splurge on here and thanks for all who has took time to listen and respond!! Sincerely, Jaiven's MOM
