Guest guest
A couple of things to mention....some people with leaky guts have an actual anaphylactic reaction (allergy) to casein and I guess others have a sensitivity. So I can understand if we are just talking sensitivity that goat's milk might be helpful. However for those with the allergy, its not. And I imagine that many of the patients with autism that Dr. CMcB sees probably actually have an allergy. However the other thing to consider is Dr. CMcB takes patients completely off of casein (regardless of type) because of the casomorphins (sp?) that are generated by the protein not being completely broken down. The Bio-Kult does not have casein in it at all. So if one consumes goat's milk you'd really have to pay careful attention to see if there is an affect with casomorphins. With Bio-Kult you don't have to worry about it. I guess I am actually doing an experiment with my kids because one is allergic to dairy and one is not. The one not allergic to milk is still consuming raw cow's milk because I'm not really ready for her to give it up and I don't have any good alternatives right now. I'm just now weaning her from breastfeeding at 28 months. She's allergic to nuts and fish and was allergic to eggs but seems to have resolved that (I think because of the raw milk). Just had a reaction last night to eating some asparagus off my plate that also had a salmon fillet on it. Her face turned bright red w/ hives on it. Anyway both my girls are on the SCD diet except I'm still feeding the younger one raw milk. They are both taking Bio-Kult. It will be interesting to see who heals faster. If the raw milk seems to be causing the problem, I'll eventually take her off it and keep going with the Bio-Kult.
