Guest guest
Pat, check out a book called Breaking the Vicious Cycle. It is similar to the Atkins diet so you shouldn't have a hard time adjusting but it helps yeast. Where do I start? I started on the Atkins Diet, was doing just great. lost 8 lbs, another 2 pounds, then gained 2 lbs, gained another 2 lbs. And I have been staying on the diet very closely. So I went back and read some more of the book. When I got to the part about Candida, the whole list of indications for candida fit me. Now I don't know where to start. I'm one of those people who just wants to know what pill to take and get it over with. From what I have been reading, there is no magic pill for this. Time for a lifestyle change! Prior to starting Atkins I had been just eating whatever I wanted, lots of baked goods, breads mostly. After a vacation of two weeks of eating our way to New Orleans and back I decided I really needed to get some weight off, and stop eating everything that crossed my path! But even though I have been adhering to the Atkins diet I am not continuing to lose, but have started to gain. The Atkins book tells me to avoid yeast and mold containing foods- cheese, vinegar, soy sauce and other fermented condiments, mushrooms, sauerkraut, sour cream, peanuts, cashews and pistachios, smoked and cured foods, yeast-containing vitamins, wine, beer and spirits. Now I am also wondering if some teas which may be fermented are also suspect. What is the effect of caffiene on candida? What I want to know is, besides avoiding these things, what can I do or eat or take to aid in getting my system back into balance? What are probiotics, which ones do I need and how much and where do I find these? Where do I start? And if I can't have vinegar, what do I make a salad dressing out of? Guest guest
Hi Jacquie, autismpedia.org has information written by parents on how to get started in the biomed arena: (http://tinyurl.com/Autism-Starting) The main page has a link to a recovery story, that will be of interest to you: (http://tinyurl.com/autismpedia) Could you please post a bit of dental and medical history for you and your child? How old was your son when you first observed the regression? What is his level of functioning/symptoms. It would be helpful to know about his diet, also. --penumbra > > Hi Im new to this group and the whole biomed scene.I have an 8yr old > son with regressive autism and I would like to try chelation.I have > read lots about this recently and to be honest I still have no idea how > to begin. It sounds quite complicated and I dont want to harm my son > obiously ,so do I try to find a dr(I live in the UK and there doesnt > seem to be as much professional help available here)or do I attempt it > myself?I have read some protocols and am totally lost!I would be > grateful for any advice/suggestions. > Thanks for your time, > Jacquie >

Guest guest
Did you read the FAQs when you joined the group. There is a pretty good explanation there of the protocol. ________________________________ From: jcqcoops <jcqcoops@...> Sent: Saturday, January 24, 2009 7:02:51 AM Subject: [ ] Where do I start? Guest guest
Hi Jacquie, Your explanation is very helpful. Firstly, I want to write that my child enjoys pressing his chin hard into things. During hard chamber hyperbaric oxygen therapy, he would often hit his chin. He also climbs on my back and pushes his chin into my head (ouch!). Although highly speculative, I think this may be a mild case of lock-jaw (tetanus), which has been lurking around since he received the DPaT vaccine. The chin punching has gone away with the use of an inexpensive, all- natural anti-viral remedy called LDM-100. I think you could easily hide this in his blackcurrent cordial. The chin pressing behavior is still there, but it is reduced considerably. The chin hitting has stopped. (http://tinyurl.com/Will-Antiviral) A more comprehensive anti-viral approach is given on this web site: (http://www.stankurtz.com/) With respect to the other behaviors, my 5.5 year old son is also very similar. He is non-verbal, but has been learning little things along the way. Interestingly, prior to his regression at 4, he was an extremely clever, emotionally connected, chatty little guy. So, we know this is not representative of his potential, as I am sure it is not of Drew. The self-restrictive diet behavior was a huge problem for us. After 3 months of agressive anti-fungal and probiotic therapy my son became open to eating anything (and he still does). Flapping hands also went away at this time. Pangborn, the microbiologist who coauthored the book " Autism: effective biomedical treatments... " writes that the brain works with a " just-in-time " supply of energy. When the mineral transport, nutritional uptake, and hormonal issues prevent proper energy supply to the brain you have the loss of language. I believe that mercury plays a huge role, but nutritional uptake is also disrupted because of gut dysbiosis. Maybe the adrenalin seeking behavior helps to get more energy to the brain. (http://tinyurl.com/autismpedia) Wishing you a FULL RECOVERY on your new biomedical journey with Drew! --penumbra
Guest guest
Hi Jacquie, Welcome to the group. You're in the right place. Comments interspersed. S S Where do I start? Posted by: " jcqcoops " jcqcoops@... jcqcoops Sat Jan 24, 2009 7:02 am (PST) Hi Im new to this group and the whole biomed scene.I have an 8yr old son with regressive autism and I would like to try chelation. *Do you know what caused the regression? Have you stopped vaccines? Does he have any mercury amalgam dental fillings? I have read lots about this recently and to be honest I still have no idea how to begin. *Order a DDI (Doctor's Data, Inc.) hair elements test and apply the counting rules or post results here and group will help interpret. If you mention this group they'll give you a discount. It sounds quite complicated and I dont want to harm my son obiously , *Keep reading, it gets easier the more you understand. Many of us chelate without a doc because many of the docs don't understand how to do so safely. In US ALA and DMSA are available without prescription. so do I try to find a dr(I live in the UK and there doesnt seem to be as much professional help available here)or do I attempt it myself?I have read some protocols and am totally lost!I *Andy Cutler's protocol is the safest and based on real science unlike other protcols. would be grateful for any advice/suggestions. Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, Welcome! We've all been where you are. Overwhelmed and not sure where to begin. You should have been mailed some articles on how to get started. But if not, please read How to Successfully Overcome Candida: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu2_8.php There is a lot of information, but take is slowly and ensure you understand all of the principles of the program. That article will explain the steps you need to take to get completely on Bee's program. Try to keep in mind that this is not a 'detox' program, rather it is a program that works on building up your immune system so that your body can heal itself. The step one takes to get fully on the program (diet and supplements) varies for different people, depending on how well they can tolerate the die-off symptoms they get. For some people, they can get fully on the program within a month; for other people it can take up to a year. It's best to go slowly and not do too much at once, otherwise you will overwhelm your body and it won't know how to heal. Here is a list of the allowable foods on Bee's program. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foodslist.php Here is a list of the supplements http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/supp1.php with a quick reference guide: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/supp7.php But definitely read as much as you can so that you understand the whys and hows. This program might seem overwhelming at first, but it will become second nature to you in no time. Good luck! > > I am overwhelmed on where to begin? Guest guest
Welcome to our group! What to do next is dependent on what problems you are having really. Problems in school? What kind? Usually kids with AS can have a variety of therapies to work on fine motor (OT) and social skill/language (ST) and social groups to learn how to socialize with others. Roxanna Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again. ( ) Where do I start? Guest guest
> > Greetings, I have recently been diagnoised with candidas. I feel as though I have suffered with this condition all my life and never knew exactly what was wrong with me. I am seeking suggestings from those who actually suffer from this condition. What has helped and what should I stay away from. I'm taking GSE and have cut all sweets from my diet. I have been drinking plenty of water, eating lots of veggies and adding extra fiber. My body has been feeling odd, I'm warm all the time and I have had a headache off and on. Guest guest
Hi Angie, Here are some articles about fiber. As Danny wrote, it's a good idea to read as much of Bee's website as you can as your answers will be found there. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu3_2_2.php Welcome to Bee's group!
