Guest guest Posted March 2, 2002 Report Share Posted March 2, 2002 I was taking Arava and it was helping the PA a great deal. In mid-January my liver enzymes were slightly elevated. Rheumy said to get them checked again in one month, they were even higher then. Took me off the arava and more blood taken in two weeks. The two week ended on Thursday so had more blood work done. Got a call from the Rheumatologist yesterday and they were even higher. They put me on Cholestyramine to get the arava out of my system. That is nasty stuff. It doesn't taste too bad but grainy. This is after a last year from hell. The PA was doing ok but my left hip broke and ended up having a hip reeplacement. I am only 42 and bone density is excellent so not 100% sure what happened ther.
