When my son was dx with mild Asp., I did research, and come to find out, my

sister, who is now 44, was an undiagnosed Aspie. Back in the 70's, she was just

considered shy. My mom burst into tears when her 3rd grade teacher said at a

conference " What's wrong with your daughter? " and mom cried " I just don't know " .

I'm thankful for the evolution of all these diagnosis because now the issues can

be addressed.

Happy news... my sister really pulled herself up by the bootstraps, made

friends with people who could help her with those awkward social situations, is

a successful nursing professor and married a wonderful man (who is also an

undiagnosed Aspie.) I guess they just find each other!

However, most people view her as having behavioral problems and my husband

will refer to it as being " bratty " .
