Guest guest
Welcome, . You've come to a good place. I don't have any lung problems so far, but many people with PA have pleurisy and/or pain from inflammation in the connective tissues around the ribs. It's certainly possible that your lung problems are related to PA. regards, sherry z > > My first questions are: Does anyone here have problems with their > lungs? Guest guest
Hey , Sorry to hear about what has been going on with you. You can certainly develop lung problems with PA and/or RA. I did and since being on humira it has really helped with inflamation in my lungs. you might want to complain to your Rhemy and have him send you to a lung specialist that is familiar with RA Lung involvment. Hope things get better for you. Right now my lungs are okay, but it wasn't always the case. Sorry to say but i think with this kind of autoimmune disease anything can happen and usually does. > > Hello, > I am and I have just been diagnosed with PA--no. let me take > that back. Guest guest
Hi my name is Carlene, I have a son who is 10 diagnosed with "Aspergers" and "ADHD". He is currently taking meds. He is seeing a counselor weekly. He goes to a local Charter School. We currently have a wonderful network for him. But we still struggle with issues. So I am happy to be joining this group. Thank You.
Guest guest
Hi Carlene, Are you happy with your son's diagnosis? My daughter got diagnosed with ADHD. I did not see it in her. I even questioned 'Can a child with ADHD sit in a classroom with 25 other children and work on a math test for 3 hours and still get a perfect score?' The reply I kept getting was 'NO'. So I kept pushing. I finally had another screening done and they said that all of my daughters sensory and motor disregularities were creating ADHD tendacies. That I do agree with. So now we are doing some intense OT with my daughter. The down side with my daughter's degree of sensory and motor issues is that it will take at least three years to get her to be able to recognize and seek the proper stimulation so that she can focus. Guest guest
First I think you could be my new best friend, second for the first time this weekend I dont feel alone, My Son age 10 was diagnosed this friday with Aspergers, he has been on ADHD meds for a long time. First I have to say his meds work wonders, but there was always somthing in my head that made me say, it is not only ADHD, we are missing somthing, the doctor we went to recomended a charter school, or magnet school, how do you like the charter school does it seem to help? What therapies do you attend, I am so new to all of this, after we left the doctor I just felt like now what? I just joined this group, and am looking forward to talking to parents that understand. Thanks! > > Hi my name is Carlene, I have a son who is 10 diagnosed with " Aspergers " and " ADHD " . > He is currently taking meds. He is seeing a counselor weekly. Exhaustion can be the first response to my week and day!. Constantly on the move. Keeping things in order, and chores kept up. But has gotten better in the last few months. is on a very strict schedule, bedtime, wakeup, school, homework, chores, playtime!!!, ect. It works! But when I fianally sit down to eat or do other personal things guess what? Mommmmmmy I am........! Hungry ect. Luckily meds do help with his ADHD and he goes to bed at 8:30, yeah! Iam at full force cleaning ect. He goes to a treatment center for meds monthly, and sees a counselor weekly. We are soon going to a gasterenologist for digest test ie. -see if needs to be gluten free or dairy free diet. But its so wonderful to get a letter saying he is no longer going t o recieve SSI /medicaid as of may. Bummers. But we have good insurance but out of pocket expenses are going eat us up. Well: APPEAL at least for medicade. Well I hope I did not overwelm you. looking forward to chatting with you. new friends. Guest guest
This is such a great group! I wish that I had more time to read all of the posts- its when I come across someone who is just starting out in the journey that I stop and look at what my journey has held. I am sure you will find some of the best advice you can get on here. We all have our ups and downs.. personally I feel that I am blessed beyond blessed to have an Aspie.. he is the most incredible child I have ever met. He is confusing, frustrating, mysterious, hilarious...the words can not explain. I need to get on here more.. just knowing that others are going through the same things gives me hope that there is a way! Guest guest
Hi , It was good to hear from you. The answer to your question, I am ok with his diagnoses. I do accept it. I just believe I have time to find out as much as possible about it. To keep trying ways to help him be the best that he can be, to live a long and healthy meaningful life. I try to focus on all that is able to do and be encouraging, and positive, and what ever he is interested in I let him know about it as much as possible. He has done so many things. He will like something for a few months then change quickly. It gets so enthrolled in it, obsessive! He will not do computer or games, but reading and drawing is so great! I am so proud of him. Well now that I have talked your ear off, lol. Hope to hear from you again soon. I do have other things in my life and hope to get to know you better. I am so new at all this, forgive me if I keep rambling on. Have a great day.
