For language, I wrote what my son needed here http://www.danasview.net/issues.htm For depression, B vitamins, fish oil, and yeast control were very helpful here. Guest guest
Hi Sounds yours is a similar story to mine although I did have steady girlfriend for 7 years (29 now) and broke down because of ED - desire has always been there for me though. You say your weren't into girls - are you saying you did not ever feel an urge for sex/masturbation? I know that sounds personal but I wouldn't have thought you have never had desire/libido. I've done a fair bit of research already and went to my doctor and surprise suprise I had total T of 300 ng/dL. I intend to find out exact cause of my low T soon although I am sure I am primary due to small testicles since puberty and normal LH and FSH readings (taken recently). I too have had my sexuality questioned by my mates after breaking up with original girlfriend when I was 26/27 just because I've not been out with someone since on regular basis. Then I ask why I have to have this - being a straight young guy in his prime who loves women with this hypogonadism is a complete nightmare and something non- hypogonadal guys would not be able to relate to. Your doing the right thing by getting Total T, LH, FSH etc tested as first step then your next step is to find out the cause of your low T like me by further tests. If you need anymore info on this let me know Chris > > Hello everyone, > > > > I'm new here and never posted before. Guest guest
Hi! Your T level count is too damn low, explains all your symptoms. When the rest of your tests get back, get the appointment with the urologist as soon as possible, convince him/her to immediately give you a shot to jump start, and then check with your health insurance company to see if they will cover with your copay either injectable testosterone or a skin spread on. Skin spread ons, simply put and from the esperience of many on this forum, don't work as well, and have to applied every day, and are VERY expensive, especially the name brands like Androgel. I have been self injecting, something you MUST learn to do right away as going in for shots is a real inconvenience. Most guys here self inject in their thigh, really does not hurt at all, either every two weeks, NO LONGER than that, or even once a week. This is by far the cheapest way to go. If you want to try the daily skin spreads, the cheapest way to go is to get a good compounding pharmacy to whip you up a jar of, I use 10% testosterone, GEL, I get it from Hyland Pharmacy in Albuquerque, and they will mail it out. Any questions this is a GREAT group, let us know what happens. I think you will feel a whole lot better when your T level comes up. norton

Guest guest
A lot of people here are on it. I take it myself. I have not found the side effects to be too bad. Usually I feel a little stomach upset later in the day that I take it and that has been about all. It's important to take folic acid when you are on it to avoid problems caused by the methotrexate depleting it. Guest guest
Hi Gail, I am on methotrexate since last March. It's helped put me back on my feet, I was nervous when I first started too, but it has worked well for me. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Gail, I took methotrexate for about 6 years and then it became toxic. It bothered my kidneys and made me feel terrible. When I first started it was great then I got to a level where I had to give myself a needle once a week. Since I've had to stop taking it my psoriasis is much worse along with the pain and swelling. I wish you luck because it really does help. SD
Guest guest
Hi, welcome to this group. 1) have you done the hair test to see what kind of heavy metal he has in his body? 2) A gluten free casein free diet would be very important for ASD kids, go on this diet if you haven't already done so. 3) consider doing the Andy Culter detoxifcation protocol. Check out under the file section for this protocol. hope this helps Priscilla On Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 5:08 AM, bernadetteguillen < bernadetteguillen@...> wrote: > Hi! I'm new to the group. Guest guest
Hi, Is there really anything to be so nervous about? I can really dwell on " side effects " . Guest guest
Gail, Better to have methotrexate to take than nothing at all. I took that particular med for almost 12 years...it had some interesting side effects for me but at a time when there were no biologics, it did the trick. Be positive and strong...at times easier said than done but anything you put your mind to can be achieved! Guest guest
Hi! I have a son with severe ADHD and sensory issues. Had a severe reaction to Hep B at 3 weeks. I refused all further vaccines. There was a lot of press this week about a recent study revealing that mercury was found in food containing high fructose corn syrup and that they are still using plants to manufacture HFCS that use mercury in the process. Google " high fructose corn syrup and mercury " , it was on FOX news, Washington Post etc. I am working with diet and just tossed everything in the house that contained HFCS also. I am wondering if anyone has had problems with a bad itchy rash on childs bottom - my son has one that has now spread to his lower back and legs. He was on antiabiotics for strep 2 weeks ago not sure if that started it. I am working now to locate a DAN doctor so I can have him tested as his pediatrician will not even listen when I inquire about metals causing his ADHD and other symptoms and would like to look into chelation. Guest guest
300 ng/dL is too low as a consistent reading during puberty, though it might be an initial reading toward the beginning of one of the Tanner stages. It depends on which reference range is in view. I doubt any man who experiences substantial masculinization remains at that level- he'd probably finish around 600 ng/dL at least (somewhat below the average for 18-45 year olds). Arup Reference Range for Tanner Stages IV & V (near complete sexual maturation; ranges indicated on my lab results) Tanner Stage IV: 165 - 854 ng/dL Tanner Stage V: 194 - 783 ng/dL http://www.medicine.uiowa.edu/Path_Handbook/handbook/test2266.html This site indicates testosterone (free & total) by age for both males & females. Under Tanner Stage V, it lists 94-783 ng/dL total testosterone instead of 194-783 ng/dL; I'm not sure if the site or my lab results made the typo. Checking on Clinicaltrials.gov , some testosterone deficiency studies indicate 400 ng/dL as the threshold. It seems that the more recent studies indicate 400 ng/dL as a better cut off point. This follows the trend of using a higher cut off point, as a year or two ago, andrologists were suggesting 350 rather than 300 as a cut off point. (Note that reference ranges sometimes include those who are sick but haven't articulated symptoms, & are generally based on who gets tested, not some well-constructed " ideal health " standard.) Men can have 300 ng/dL (or less) total T & not perceive symptoms, whereas men can have over 300 ng/dL & have almost all of the symptoms of hypogonadism. If a) medicine was not so prejudiced by the Anabolic Steroid Control Act & testosterone's status as a Controlled Substance & testosterone was prescribed as liberally to men as estrogen is prescribed to women, we wouldn't need these arbitrary numbers to limit who gets it & who doesn't & could allow the presence of symptoms to justify prescription. Pardon my political rant. Don't settle for average or normal- only accept what makes you feel better. ~Xian > > > > Hi > > > > Sounds yours is a similar story to mine although I did have steady > > girlfriend for 7 years (29 now) and broke down because of ED - > desire > > has always been there for me though. Guest guest
Hi Randy, I had my first bout of inflammatory (reactive) arthritis that I got as a result of a seemingly never-ending strep infection I contracted as a young man (age 20). I had been working nights in a machine shop while attending the University of Akron part-time during mostly sleepless days. The step infection would not go away and opened doorways to other disease, like mononucleosis. Before working nights for a year, I had always been extremely healthy and strong. I was on varsity sports teams for the whole 4 years I attended high school. I set school and county records in the hurdles and the pole vault. I missed but 12 days of school for the entire 13 years that I attended K-12. It seems that strep infections and a number of other infections such as chlamydia are precursors to psoriatic arthritis. http://www.arthritis.org/can-germs-prevent-arthritis-ra2.php Here is a link to others' stories of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis that was published in the New York Times: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/01/15/the-voices-of-psoriasis/?apage=\ 3 Following is a link to http://butyoudontlooksick.com/ when in there follow the link to spoon theory. It has proven helpful for some people who don't get how disabling inflammatory diseases/chronic pain can be for a person. http://butyoudontlooksick.com/the_spoon_theory/ I am always pleased to hear that something like Enbrel can bring relief to most people - people like you, Randy. I'm now 53 and am on Prednisone only; I can't take the TNF blockers: they have caused neuropathy for me and I am under investigation for MS that may have been unmasked due to using Enbrel. It was a gamble when I started shooting those proteins into my system, and I seem to be one of the few who have a negative outcome. My first couple of months on Enbrel were fantastic! I had forgotten what a pain-free body felt like. Though I am losing my memory and other cognitive/neurological abilities, I have no anger because I was counseled to inject it. Celebrex messes now with my heart and blood pressure so badly that I only take it on the extremely rare circumstances where I feel I must get through a day, like having tp travel to my Rheumatologist by car 2.5 hours away from my current home in the very rural coastal mountains of British Columbia. Take care, Brent
