Hi Everyone,

My six year old son has developed a vocal stim/tic. It is kind of a cross

between throat

clearing, a cluck and a nose snort. He is very verbal but has apraxia (speech

path says he is

85% intelligible) so it is difficult to understand him. We just finished a round

of penicillin a

week ago (that is when it started) for strep. The tic comes and goes. His

titers are being

checked this week to rule out the possibility of PANDAS. Does anyone have any

idea what

could be causing this? A knowledgeable friend of mine (has son with ASD)

suggested it could

be related to seizures because the tic is combined with apraxia, and low muscle

tone ( he has

very weak upper body strength). I am hoping there is a simpler explanation.

Could it be an

allergy? My same friend suggested to try singuliar first and see if the tics

subside. Does

anyone have experience with Singuliar (good or bad). Any advice would be so

appreciated.

Thanks In Advance,

Dayna

At my house, usually this meant yeast overgrowth.

Definitely increase the yeast protocol.

I used carnitine for this.
