Schoolwork refusals

Hello!

I'm having a HORRIBLE day! I just can't fight with the school one more time over my AS child!! Do you know what I mean?

Anyway, my son is 9 and in 4th grade. Last year he suddenly became very violent. He just had these rages that we didn't know what to do with. It was just a mess and the school basically kicked him out and to a "day treatment" and, yeah, it was just a mess. Anyway, he came back to his regular school this year. He did really well for a few weeks. Now he's refusing to do ANY work! After an incident when they denied him a sensory break and he had a meltdown and ended up hitting his aide we told them they have to give him his breaks. Well, now that's all he wants to do!! He gets on break and then refuses to go back to the classroom. Friday they tried to make him and he had another meltdown and ended up in hold for 20 mintues! Now today we had this big meeting and they're saying that if this persists then they will kick him out again and he will just be home with me. NOOOOO!! I'm sorry, but I just can't do that (for many reasons). I love my son (and my daughter) more than anything, but that just won't work. What can we do to get him back on track at school and staying in class and doing his work!?!? Any suggestions would be sooooo appreciated!

Beth
