Guest guest
started school last wednesday. He is in 8th grade. Despite having a terrible time with pre-algebra last year, tested into Algebra this year. My husband tutored him over the summer. I was skeptical but we decided it would be easier to start him in the upper level class and put him in pre-al later if he seemed to be struggling. I don't think the special ed teacher wanted us to do it but we decided should move on to Algebra. So far it seems like it was an excellent choice. has a very good rapport with his Algebra teacher who is, I believe, much older than most of the teachers. He retired from being a principal and then got bored and went back to teach math. All the kids LOVE him. He told me that he raised a disabled son himself and had an asperger kid last year who ended up at the top of the class. participated more in class yesterday than he ever did last year. I'm so happy about this. Miriam
