Crews cleanup mold in classroom

By Chang, NewsWest 9

MIDLAND, TEXAS (MRT) - Cleanup of a junior high school classroom that tested

positive for black mold spore was completed over the weekend, and students

could be allowed back into the room later this week.

A crew was at San Jacinto Junior High School in Midland Saturday to clean-up

a classroom that tested positive for black mold spore last Wednesday.

The class had been evacuated at that time, and had remained closed since

then.

Specially-dressed and masked workers wiped down everything in the room

trying to kill-off any bacteria. It was reported the amount of mold spore

found was so tiny, you would need a microscope to see it. Still the Midland

Independent School District was not taking any chances.

The room will be re-tested for black mold today or on Tuesday. Most likely,

students will be back in the classroom by the end of the week.
