The meaning of Ears that are red and hot

My son used to get very hot and red (both) ears when playing video games.

Interestingly enough when muscle tested for Nintendo he showed weakness as well.

I was taught that hot reddened ears, especially when variable, are an infallible

guide to food allergy. Often only one ear reddens and heats.
