Guest guest
See if you can limit him to at home? Will he tolerate that? Get him some fidgets. See if you can get the school to allow him chewing gum. My son is allowed to have gum. He chews on pens, fingernails, water bottles etc so I thought gum would help him. Finding some way to help him comfort himself without seeming so different is the key. A functional behavioral analysis might help. Schools should always do these IMHO. It's important to find out the causes and functions of behavior and then try to replace behavior with something more appropriate. Not that I'm any expert since my daughter pulls her hair out and I've been trying to replace that behavior with something less problematic for years with no success. Miriam > > Hi all.
