Guest guest
We get our melatonin (the sublingual and the time release) from GNC. It seems to be a reasonable price and the kids like the taste of that particular sublingual. Also, just as a warning, we were told by the autism specialist at school and others that melatonin does not work forever. You need to "give it a break" every once in a while to kind of like "reset" it. They said that if you see a decrease in effectiveness that you should have the kids not take it for about 2 weeks and then restart. We had to do this around Christmas break (thank goodness it was on a break from school) and it seems like it worked. Just a thought! Beth Re: ( ) Melatonin Date: Saturday, January 8, 2011, 2:12 AMOur 11 year old (Sensory Issues) daughter takes 1 to 3 sublingual 1mg tablets per night. Our 9 year old son (AS) takes a 3mg time release every night. Our daughter has a hard time swallowing things so she gets the sublingual. Our son has problems with waking in the middle of the night, so he takes the time release. We can supplement his with an additional 1mg sublingual if he's having trouble falling asleep. Hope that helps! Beth
Guest guest
I was also told it works best if taken 1/2 hour before bedtime - with no tv or computer Rose From: Beth & Dave Schmidt <bethndave@...>Subject: Re: ( ) re: Melatonin- time release??!!!
