Guest guest
I don't know why but I just can't watch those kind of movies. Bob wanted to watch it but I couldn't. My SIL went to see Radio when it first came out and called us to say we HAD to see it. I just can't. Di Movie So what did everyone think of the Riding the Bus with My Sister movie? I personally didn't love it. I thought that it missed too much of what the book was about and I thought the acting was not good and overdone by Rosey, but that is just my opinion. , mom to Myah 4 (ds) and Shianne (7mo)

Guest guest
It is also difficult for me to watch these movies. I did watch the one last night, although I haven't read the book. I thought Rosie was a little over the top, so loud, I was constantly adjusting sound, low for her and high for the sister. But then, I do have to remind sometimes that we are right next to her, that she doesn't have to talk so loud. I don't know, I guess since we live with similar situations everyday, no actor will probably ever get it right, and these movies hit so close to home, that it is emotionally difficult to watch them. But then, I know a woman that almost died in a severe car accident, and she can't watch movies or TV shows that show graphic car accidents. Sharon Re: Movie I didn't like the movie that much either. Guest guest
I felt nothing that related to this movie. I mean Rosie was so unreal and loud and rude. There was no similarity to a person with DS, or autism as I had read she was supposed to have. Didn't seem to. All in all it was a pretty lousy movie, I thought. Guest guest
I watched the movie. I didn't care for it very much. Rosie was just so loud in the movie. I thought it was going to be better then it was. I was disappointed. K. mom to Tommy DS age

Guest guest
I met Simon at a conference and read the book. Beth did not have Down Syndrome, nor was Autism mentioned. She was born with an undetermined cause for her mental retardation as I understood to say. Although I agree, I don't understand why Rosie felt she had to talk so loud. I do know that Beth was very rude to her sister. It is thought that that is the way she showed her independence. The book was mainly about 's journey to understanding that her vision of Beth's successful happy life was not necessarily what Beth's vision for the same was and to let go of her ideals and accept Beth for who she wanted to be. I missed the first of the movie, so I don't know if that message was conveyed. I know the book left me with a bad feeling also in the portrayal of Beth. I think the overall message of the book was a good one, it was just hard to accept that maybe Kaitlyn would want to ride busses all day. Of course, Im going to have accept the choices of my other kids also.... you can't make them go to medical school if they aren't interested. Darcy Re: Movie I felt nothing that related to this movie.
