Guest guest
Hi Joanne, An MRI will show better than a CT scan if the soft tissues like spinal cord and nerve roots have been compromised and also show how damaged the discs are. From there the doctors will have a better idea on how to proceed. Their recommendations could start with conservative approaches like physical therapy and/or steroid injections or may be more extensive like removal of discs and fusion if nerve or spinal cord damage looks imminent. I'm sorry that your daughter is in so much pain. Did she have an accident of some kind? Guest guest
Welcome Joanne! I too am rather new to the group and I am sorry that your daughter has problems at such a young age. The group is made of experience- knowledgeable people who suffer with many kinds of cervical and lumbar problems. They can surely help and support you. As Rochelle posted the MRI is probably the best diagnostic tool for divulging everything that an Otho or Neuro would need to know. Take care and keep us informed of any further developments. Sincerely, Annie of the woods Rochelle Cocco <rccoc1977@...> wrote: Hi Joanne, An MRI will show better than a CT scan if the soft tissues like spinal cord and nerve roots have been compromised and also show how damaged the discs are. Guest guest
Hello, my name is and I live out side of Lexington KY. I had never heard of Asperger's Syndrome until I read a artile on CNN.com about the teenage boy that was lost in the subway and it said that he would not ask for help becus of his condition. I was curious and went to mayoclinic and read up. I have 3 children. a 6 year old daughter who is your normal 6 year old and 4 year ols frat boy girl twins. my boy is the center of the group he goes above and beyond in his social skills and loves attention. Then his twin she is the complete oposite. Very quiet calm when out of her home settings. When at school she will not self invite her self to do anything from every day things as going to the bathroom to giving her teacher (that is also her sunday school teacher and we have known for manyyears) a hug. She can work a 300 piece puzzel from the inside out with out the picture. she is very soft spoken even to myself at home when she wants something is just slightly above a wisper and I have to put my ear to her to get what she is saying. she does not like to shop and has been this way since she was little. during play time at school she will go to the corner of the room and work puzzels (the preschool has had to get new ones just for her) or she will play in the kitchen area but will not interact with the other children. she will not raise her hand to answer questions, ask questions. or if prompted for a answer if she answers it is again a wisper. Thank you in advance for any help or advise that you have. I am in no way diagnosing my child but if there is a name for her behavior then I think it would greatly help us and her teachers adjust to her. Thank you Mom to , Stacey &
