Guest guest
Ken, how sad that the small homeowner like myself would never be able to pay $2000 for a mold inspection. Of course the government should have trained inspectors doing their job properly. You know, 3 years ago when I became ill at work, had to leave, and had no income, Dr. Johanning suggested I also do an inspection of my home to rule out the source of mold there. It was $70 at the time! This was by a very good professional recommended by Dr. Johanning. Where do they come up with a figure of $2000? The consumer is being raped left and right in every way. The pendulum needs to swing. Barth NEW: TOXIC MOLD SURVEY: www.presenting.net/sbs/sbssurvey.html
Guest guest
I agree with you Pat. Sadly in Washington, reality has little to do with anything. I know because I worked there for several years for our Government. What Conyers wants is for anybody making less than, say, 85,000 a year to pay $500. Everybody else pays $2000. His original high end figure was $2500. I said make it 1000 to 1500 but they said that wouldn't pass. Never know if you don't try.Why must we pay the government to do what they are required by law to do? Isn't this paying twice for the same thing? If Conyers and the rest feel that we must pay it is time to close the EPA and every state and local inspection group. Put them all out of work with no benefits for not protecting America. Use the money saved by getting rid of EPA to do something useful like finding a cure for cancer. Use the state monies saved and give it back to the taxpayers. Of course to do this they must admit the system has failed Americans. Instead they will keep these ineffective agencies going while we are hurting. Only in America is incompetence within government rewarded. Ken > Ken, how sad that the small homeowner like myself would never be able > to pay $2000 for a mold inspection. Guest guest
Some months ago I sent my Federal Mold Legislation to Ms. and asked her to give it to Congressman Conyers to review. A few months later, she used my email addresses of friends to try and get support for Conyers legislation. I was told by two different people who contacted her that she told one she was working with me and told the other she didn't know who I was. I emailed her and asked for a copy of the Conyers bill. I asked why he didn't use the 1998 Mold legislation that had passed the house. She accused me of threatening her and said she would call the police if I contacted them. I still have the e-mails if anybody is interested. Many followed these emails and said she has problems because in no way did I threaten anybody. I have no time to play their Washington games as my family gets sicker from the mold. I will accept no legislation unless it has accountability. Without it noting gets accomplished. Are you aware that I have been trying to get Massachusetts to pass legislation, since 1996, that would hold corrupt government inspectors liable? Seems in Massachusetts corrupt inspectors are protected by a law the state snuck in in 1993 to block my family. I've also been trying since 1998 to get a National Building Standards Law passed in Washington DC. Seems Washington has no concern for protecting we homeowners from corrupt builders, realtors, private and government inspectors and banks. Of course when the amount of illegal and unsafe construction allowed by government building inspectors is over a BILLION dollars, it is only small change in Washington. Guest guest
Ken, it's not only building inspectors. I understand that some of the meat inspectors won't eat meat.
