Today, we sent a certified letter to the management office of our apartment complex informing them that a toxicologist had done mold testing on our apartment and found a huge infestation of toxic mold. Numerous water leaks were reported to the office over three years with no results. Well, now they will know that we are taking measures on our own. My husband fears retaliation. Our upstairs neighbor had recently vacated her apartment and we talked to her today for the first time. This is strange.....at one point, she had to call the fire department because she discovered a large snake in her toilet. She also told us of extensive water leaks in her apartment and a very powerful odor of mold in her carpeting. I'm still wondering how a large snake gets into a toilet bowl in an upstairs apartment. I am very worried and wondering what kind of people we are dealing with here. My husband also told me that the last time he went into the office, the manager was counting out a stack of fifty dollar bills. Nobody here is permitted to pay their rent in cash so I'm left to assume that it was either the manager's own money or that something else is going on.....but what? In any event, my husband's word is simply hearsay at this point. We are both in very ill health and both scared.....Betsy
