We have 2 autistic sons, 11 & 14. Our 11 year old has been a handful

for the last 6-8 months. The list of issues is sol ong it would make

you head spin. As of a week ago, we thought we had finally gotten

everything under control: sleep, digestion, behavior, etc. He had his

best week of school for the entire year. Then last Saturday all h$ll

broke loose again. Mood swings, not falling asleep for hours,

constipation etc.

We has started b6, magnesium along with Vitalzyme about 2 months ago

(along with several other supplements). He also takes Risperdal, .25

mg, 2xs a day.

Over the last few days, his stools have been a soft, mushy, yellowish

brown. We think going to the bathroom actually scares him; hence the

the apparent constipation. Sunday, he did not have any bowel

movements. We give about 400mg of magnesium and 1000mg of Calcium

already. He refuses to go to sleep, often hopping out of bed

aggressively for several hours.

We had been giving 5-HTP, 100mg, 1 hour before bed and it worked

wonders for several weeks. Last night, after 2 hours of episodes, we

finally gave him 3mg of Melatonin. He fell asleep after an hour, but

was up again in 6 hours (4:30am). I know this post contains scattered

information, but any help would be a Godsend. The psychiatrist answer

is to throw drugs at us, and we do not want that option. Ted did get

some " organic " French Fries containing Canola Oil for several meals

over the weekend. This was the only food added to his diet which was

new. Please, any help would be greatly appreciate.
