Augusta BOE signs off on mold testing

Testing for a suspected mold problems at at Garfield Elementary School has

cost the Augusta school district $2,050.

The money will be paid to Precision Environmental Services of Wichita which

sampled for airborne particles late last year and early this year.

" We ran air-o-cell samples to check for possible airborne mold plus tape and

swab testing of surface materials, " said Leon Conway in a letter to school

superintendent Jim Markos. " ...nothing checked out to indicate a mold

problem within the parameters of the tests... "

Those tests were done Nov. 19, Dec. 17, and Jan. 28. The samples were sent

to Quantem Laboratories in Oklahoma City for analysis.
