Guest guest
Etta: YOu don't give much information but you should have SOME weight loss by now! What does your doctor say??? There is so much more to weight loss with the band than simply having the band and having fills, at least there is for me. I have to work out for an hour each day, 5 days a week, and eat very sparingly and healthily, and still I only lose 3-4 pounds a month...I am in the slow losers category, that is for sure. Without the exercise I doubt that I would lose at all...the band simply helps me to eat much smaller portions and not feel hungry, but this in itself is not enough to make my body turn loose of the weight, maybe you are the same way? Do you have restriction? Are you eating less? Are you moving more? Everything plays into weight loss...and you can't have one without the other, at least I can't. Guest guest
Etta: I have the VG band.. and I am filled 10.6cc out of 11.. if you aren't losing, your exercising, your following band rules (no drinking while eating) --- you need a fill.. go talk to your doctor. it took me a full year to get to the right fill (gained 35 lbs too!).. but i'm finally there (again).. and my weight loss has been happening just the last few months again.. -Donna originally banded 7/21/04 - 261 lbs rebanded 6/15/05 - 190 lbs today - 205 ---oooh NSV for me.. I'm back into size 16 jeans!!!! haven't been there since I was 16! On 8/1/06, ettaj1959 <ettaj1959@...> wrote: > > I was banded on 12/21/05 and to date have not lost any weight. Guest guest
Etta, this is a very large band and is intended for those over a BMI of 45, or with larger or thicker stomachs. some docs, however, are using them in smaller people and they they can need a very large fill indeed.. these bands normally hold 10 cc of fill, but can be filled much more if needed. The person with the largest BF fill I am awaue of is at 13.0 cc. You have lots of room left, and may just need a bit more fill. Are you feeling any restriction at ALL? There should be some by 8 cc or so... Yes, in some people, this band is just too big to get to a good fill level. That's why there ar 3 Inamed band sizes (3 for US use) and they should be chosen for teh best fit. But it's too early to thinj of this. It's most likely you simply need more fill. You might also want to print out the document in the files called " Band Eating Guide.... " . It covers all the basic band needs and things YOU need to contribute. You may find some things to improve, while you're getting to a good fill. It takes good habits, good exercise, good fluids and more along with a good fill to lose well. Certainly talk with yuor doc about all this, too, Sandy R > > I was banded on 12/21/05 and to date have not lost any weight. I have > the VG band and an 8.2 cc fill. What am I doing wrong? You're doing the right things....except when you hit the bad things. I know how tough it is to avoid those things. We help ourselves with that (my wife and I) by NEVER having those things in the house. On rare occasions we have them when grandkids visit, but we make them take any leftovers home (which they're glad to do). Doesn't make it perfect....we also help by rarely eating out and by having a freezer full of weightwatchers TVdinners, Lean Cuisine, etc. dan -- Dan Lester, Boise, ID honu@... www.mylapband.tk Dr. Ortiz, Tijuana, 4/28/03 323/209/199 Age 63 The road goes on forever..... Guest guest
I never lost any weight either and did put some weight on actually!!!! I eat very healthily and lead an active life style so I thought I would try vco to give my loss of weight a kick start but it hasn't. I am now going to give up on vco because of the side effects and stick with acv.

Sounds like you are doing reasonable exercise with 30ks per week. Adding Coconut Oil (which is a food) to your 'diet' is good. What is your 'diet' ?? I know from experience that eating a high proportion of high-Gi carbohydrates, especially without a good balance of FATS and Protein will put on weight. Knowing how many calories you are eating in a day doesn't necessarily equate to knowing the quality of your food. If you are eating high-Gi foods it will trigger the insulin response which is related to bodyfat. High-Gi is just another way of saying high-sugar or food that the body recognises as sugar. Sugar is what the body uses for energy. High doses of sugar DON'T get used, can't be processed 'normally' so the excess energy is stored as FAT. Funny how WHITE 'foodstuffs' are usually the big culprits. Added to this all the highly processed and refined foods. I'm sure Coconut Oil can contribute to Weightloss, however some of the above needs to be considered in the process. Guest guest
i was on the coconut oil for two and one half months. It does suppress one appetite but it did not stop my addiction to sweets.. I do admit I tried to use the coconut religiously via Trudeau's book. Any solution : I do not know. I need to find a way to kick the food habit I admit my weight stablize for two months and then the stress from work cause me to eat alot more. richby9 <richby9@...> wrote: " " <italiansapphiregirl@...> wrote: > Has anyone lost weight while eating coconut oil? Guest guest
Hi , I had the same problem with the oil that you have. I gained a lot of weight while taking it. I am also hypo and think that contibuted also. There also seems to be some insulin resistance on my part. I have a hard time losing weight until recently when I started taking decaf green tea, ceylon cinnamon, lemon and honey evey day. Since April I have lost 11 pounds. Guest guest
Chromium is also supposed to help cigarette cravings. It balances blood sugar and helps with those afternoon lulls when you reach for that sweet. slyan2007 wrote: > >> >>> Has anyone lost weight while eating coconut oil? Guest guest
Hi , I am just using any brand of decaf green tea. Those that can drink caffiene can use that also. I am allergic to caffiene. Depending on my schedule, I try to drink a cup after lunch and dinner (either hot or cold). For my own convenience, I also take the cinnamon in capsule form which I usually take with my breakfast. I add a stick of the cinnamon to each cup of hot tea or I just make a large pot of tea with as many bags of the tea and add as many cinnmon sticks I want for the cold tea. Add as much as honey and lemon as you want to it. F. > > > > Has anyone lost weight while eating coconut oil? Guest guest
Okay, I've taken my temp the past two mornings and I'm well above 98 degrees. But I've done some more experimenting and totally cut out anything sweet, and I lost two pounds. I ate two dried figs yesterday and gained a pound back. I also noticed that I felt slightly dizzy the first minute after eating the fig, which was on an empty stomach. Not enough time to make a definite conclusion, but I'm going to eliminate all sweets and see if I lose weight. If so, I'm wondering more about diabetes issues. Thanks for all the input.
