Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm one of the people with RA who had GREAT initial results and posted a few weeks back saying that I was having problems again with inflammation and pain. It seemed like the LDN was becoming less effective. I know there are a few of us in this group with similar stories. I thought an update would benefit those people who are gathering info about LDN and RA and going through this right now. I've been on LDN for 19 weeks. To make a long story short, I'm doing much better. I had a flare that lasted a few weeks and I got really worried that the LDN was not going to work so well for me after all. I did a few things and am not sure which one or which combo helped, but something did. 1) I lowered my dose from 4.5 to 3.0, as i was having palpitations, dizziness, and just not feeling well. Now I'm up to 3.5 and think this may be my optimal dose. 2) I upped my Vit. D dosage per my doctor's instructions (based on lab results). 3) I took a supplement called Candidase that is supposed to control yeast overgrowth by dissolving the cell wall and the proteins in the yeast. I'm still taking that. I noticed big, positive changes in -shall we say - bowel habits, so I'm sure it did something for me. I have NOT modified my diet in any way and still eat carbs and sugar. This stuff is supposed to work regardless of diet. I got sick last week for a couple of days - low grade fever, flu-like symptoms, digestive issues, etc. I never get sick anymore, and so this was unusual for me. After it was over, I began to feel better in general, so I wonder if it was a Herxheimer or some other kind of healing crisis. While I'm not inflammation or pain-free at this point, I'm doing much better and no longer feel like I'm flaring. Perhaps this was the LDN doing its symptom-review deal on me. I hope this helps some of you! Judy
