MENTAL HEALTH PARITY

 

According to a 1992 study of Medicaid and Medicare insurance fraud,

psychiatry has the worst track record of all medical disciplines, with up to

$40 billion defrauded annually in the mental health field.  Despite this,

psychiatrists are lobbying for more money under mental health " parity " which

would mandate (force) unlimited insurance coverage for psychiatry's

unscientific " mental disorders. "

The Declaration of Madrid, that " Ethical behavior is based on the

Between 1950 and 1964, more people died in United States federal, state and

county psychiatric hospitals than the number of Americans killed in the

Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the

Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam and the

Persian Gulf War combined.

OF MENTAL DISORDERS

The American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of

Mental Disorders (DSM),  psychiatry's " billing bible " has long drawn

criticism for being more of a political manual than a scientific one because

psychiatrists literally raise their hands at their annual conference and vote

on what constitutes a " mental illness. "  

It comes as no surprise that the American Psychiatric Association's Annual

Convention in Philadelphia last week drew criticism from the local media,

becoming the brunt of its jokes...
